Other Australian Birds

Kookaburra. They steal food sometimes, like sausages from a barbecue.

Lyre birds imitate the calls of other birds, and other sounds too. Here are some recordings from Flaggy Creek (0:44) and Heaton’s Lookout (11:25):

And here’s a video of one at Tarongo Zoo that steps on my foot.

They’s usually shy in the wild though, so it can be hard to get a clear photo.
